How does it work ?

When you join we issue you with an Account ID (e.g. PKW821). Ask people you refer to enter this ID when they join (in the box marked ‘referrer’s Account ID’).

We give you £10 of free calls for each person you refer who gets connected to the Equitalk service (Carrier Pre Select).

Everyone can refer as many or as few people as they like. There’s no disadvantage for the people you refer – they get cheap phone calls and they too can make referrals.

Our prices are some of the most competitive in the market. We use the internet to reduce our costs and pass this saving back to you in the form of referrals credits.

What are the rules ?

These are the key rules for individuals. If you represent an Organization, please click here to see the rules.

We have some simple rules to make everything run smoothly :

  1. We will credit your account or pay you after the people you refer are connected to our Carrier Pre Select service.
  2. Firstly we will reduce your phone bill, then if your account is in credit by more than £20 we will credit the credit / debit card from which you pay us (which you enter when joining).

If you would like more details, please check our Terms & Conditions

When do I get paid my credits ?

It typically takes 2 weeks to connect a customer once they join. We send out statements around the middle of every month and will include £10 referral payment for every customer you have introduced since the last statement who has gone live on the Equitalk (CPS) service.

We will show the referrals credits earned and reduce your phone bill.

If your referrals credits earned are greater than your phone bill, we will transfer money to your credit / debit card or bank account before your next bill. Remember that we only transfer money to you in amounts greater than £20 – if we owe you less than £20 it will be rolled over for another month.

Who should I refer ?

You can refer friends, family, work colleagues, customers, supporters – in short anyone you know who would like to save money on their BT phone bill.

We can only accept applications from people who :

  • are UK residents
  • are aged 18 or over
  • have a BT line
  • hold a valid credit / debit card or Direct Debit bank account
  • have access to the internet (to set up their accounts)

We insist that you do not harm Equitalk’s reputation by trying to refer people irresponsibly (e.g. by using Spam, junk mail or leaflets without appropriate licenses etc). We will close your account if you harm Equitalk’s reputation.

How do I know I am referring my friends and family / customers / supporters to a quality service with competitive prices ?

Equitalk was started by the founders referring their own friends and family – it has been the guiding principle that Equitalk must aim to offer the best overall service in the market.

To ensure a quality service, our partners include MCI (one of the world’s largest networks), Barclaycard Merchant Services (on-line financial services) and Omnicom (secure web infrastructure and billing systems).

But don’t just take our word for it : John Farnhill, Fund Raising Manager, Sargent Cancer Care, "Having researched and rejected many affiliate programmes, we selected Equitalk as it is a quality service that is good for us and good for our supporters".

What is a Referrer’s Account ID ?

This is the 3 digit and 3 letter Account ID we give you when you join (e.g. HTL187).

You should give your Account ID to anyone you refer and ask them to enter it in the box marked ‘Referrer’s Account ID’ on the joining form. This allows us to track the referrals credits due to you.

Do I need to keep my Account ID secret ?

No – you should give this to everyone you introduce.

When the people you introduce join Equitalk they should enter your Account ID (in the box marked ‘Referrer’s Account ID’) and we will use it to track your credits. If you use email with a link to Equitalk to get your friends to join, your Referrer’s Account ID is automatically filled in.

People may only access your account if they know both your Account ID and your password (which you should keep secret).

How much money can I make / give to a good cause of my choice ?

We do not limit the amount of money you can earn.

The amount you earn depends upon the number of people you refer and how likely the people you refer are to make referrals themselves.

What are the advantages for the people I refer ?

You can share the benefits of Equitalk with the people you refer – you can all talk to each other for free, they get cheap phone calls and they too can make referrals.

We work with world-class partners to provide a high quality service and our prices are some of the most competitive in the market. We use the internet to reduce our costs and pass this saving back to you in the form of referrals credits – you don’t pay higher prices.

Do I, or the people I refer, have to make referrals ?

How can I claim my referrals credits ?

You can chose any one of the following ways to claim your referrals credits :

  1. FREE phone calls and EARN MONEY if your Referrals Credits are greater than your phone bill
  2. GIVE to charity

You can select which you want when you join or at any time afterwards. The choice you have made at the time we calculate the bill (on or before 15th of each month) is what we use to decide how to give you your credits.

What should I do if I want to raise money for an Organization that I represent (charity, school, good cause, club, web site etc)?

Your Organization should join Equitalk as an Affiliate and be issued with an Account ID. The Organization can then refer people (by publishing its Account ID).

The Organization does not have to use Equitalk for its phone calls. There are no charges for an Organization to join.

Please click here for your Organization to join Equitalk.

What should I do if I want to give my referrals money to an Organization (i.e. a good cause) that does not have an Equitalk Account ID ?

The Organization would need to join Equitalk to raise funds by referring their supporters. If they join they will be given an Account ID which you can use as your referrer’s Account ID when you join.

What do I do if I do not agree with the referrals credits calculated for my Account ?

Our billing and referrals systems are supplied by an ISO 9001 registered company and have undergone extensive testing. By agreeing to our Terms & Conditions you have agreed that the information held by our referrals tracking system is final proof of referrals credits due to you

In the unlikely event of a manifest error, you may report it to us by clicking here and we will be happy to investigate it for you. Our decision is final.
