How soon can I use the service after opening my account ?

We aim to have 95% of accounts active in less than 4 hours.

In a small number of cases we may take longer. For example, the code 1664 is not unique to Equitalk and if you are already signed up with a telecoms company using this code, we will have to contact you to confirm you wish to transfer your existing account. From receiving your confirmation it may take us up to 5 days to move your account. We will advise you by email as soon as your account is opened with Equitalk.

What if I have several phone lines ?

When joining you have the option to set up one phone number.

Should I use Equitalk to connect to the internet ?

We do not recommend that you use Equitalk to connect to the internet, as we do not have a local call rate.

Is the only way to manage my account over the web ?

Yes. By using the web we give you control over your account and we reduce our costs. We pass the cost savings back to you in the form of lower phone bills and referrals credits.

Can I join and manage my account from my work PC and use the phone service from home ?

Yes. You can join and manage your account from any PC that has access to the internet. You simply set up your home phone number as the phone from which you want to use Equitalk.

Do you support business users ?

We support small businesses, home workers, consultants, SoHo workers and anyone who wishes to join up using their personal details (and credit / debit card) and is happy to dial the 1664 access code before each call.

We also support larger businesses and can supply equipment which automatically routes calls from your phone system to Equitalk. Please click here if you would like someone to contact you to sign up your business.

Do you have services outside the UK ?

Equitalk currently only serves UK customers (who may of course dial anywhere in the world from the UK using Equitalk).  We are planning to extend this service to overseas markets and, if you are a member, we will inform you when these services are launched.
